Hi! My name is Judy Kwak and I am the founder of Nalee Speech Clinic. I am a bilingual speech-language pathologist (SLP). I speak English and Korean.

I am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and I am also an LDS Preferred Trainer of LDS & Associates, an accent modification program for SLPs. I received my bachelor’s degree in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California, Berkeley and my master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Virginia.

I have always loved learning foreign languages and I have always wanted a career helping people. This led me to a career in speech-language pathology and found my passions in accent modification and early intervention services.

I studied Korean and French in undergrad and briefly studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea and Paris, France. I have also dabbled in studying Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Spanish in the past. Therefore, I understand how frustrating and embarrassing it can feel to be misunderstood and to mispronounce words. I love helping my clients become more effective communicators in English and being able to learn something about their language/culture.

I also love helping children learn to communicate and use their words. Play is so much fun at this age and I sometimes have the opportunity to be present when a child says his/her first word!
